Well, I don’t know what is going on here, but I seem to be ready for the Dublin Zine Fest this weekend, with a whole day still to go. How can this be? It was too .. easy and ..smooth. [Looks nervously at sky for signs of impending disaster].
More life drawing from Tuesday at the Sol Gallery and a penny may have dropped. The ankle must be under the hip on the weight-bearing leg! The shin bone line is behind the line of the thigh. Maybe this means I can stop drawing people who look like they are going to topple over. HURRAY.
Life-drawing from Tuesday’s session in town. My Achilles heel of life-drawing is still the feet (GEDDIT? HAR.) Feet have always been difficult to draw for me. They’re a trapezoid form, explained a tutor once. Which was only slightly helpful.
under the expert eye of Frances Breen in NCAD. It was nice to be back in the independent republic of NCAD, even just for three days, engaged in such an absorbing task. We made accordion books, did Japanese binding, embossing, coptic binding. It was really good.
It approaches! I am printing and folding like something that prints and folds a lot.
I’ve been meaning to go to the Dublin Comic Jam monthly meeting for ages; I finally did, and I am so glad. These people are like me! It was like that David Sedaris short story in which, he a “fastidious dresser in 50’s clothing” meets another fastidious dresser of that epoque and exclaims “You’re one of me!” …

This was a bit of a revelation -you can use them to make forms, like in painting and for line, as in drawing. Cool!
